I am in Japan.

Sydney registered its hottest day on record.

Here in Japan, I am freezing all day long since this is the first winter since I left Japan 5 years ago.

a bit of traditional new year's food

Let me introduce some traditional Japanese dishes from my cooking class.

Osechi-ryori is a special food for New Year's Day,

housewives used to cook osechi-food every year

and each family had their original recipe

to pass it from generation to generation.

Although, lots of Japanese people like to order gorgeous osechi foods to 

famous restaurants or department stores nowadays.

I am passionate about saving our unique food culture.

So I keep telling people how home made osechi food is tasty.
