If you find Lotus roots at Asian groceries in this season, try to get one of them!
Choose nice white lotus root, not to buy dark brown one..
How to cook them?
Peel the skin off by peeler and slice them into half moon shape, then pop them into a heated frying pan.
I normally use extra virgin sesame oil or sesame oil for this.
When the lotus are pretty much cooked, add mirin (Japanese sweet rice wine for cooking) or sugar and soy sauce for taste or just use teriyaki sauce instead.
It takes only 10minutes for cooking and now you know the taste of beautiful lotus roots!
